Audi has a holistic view of responsible and sustainable action that also includes suppliers and manufacturing. The Audi Q4 e-tron is manufactured in a climate-neutral manner in Zwickau, which was once the birthplace of the brand. By 2025, Audi plans for all facilities to be climate-neutral and the brand is already well on its way. The electric cars Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback and Audi e-tron GT are already manufactured climate-neutral in Brussels and Neckarsulm, respectively. In addition, Hungarian Györ has been certified, where i.a. the electric motors for the Audi e-tron are manufactured.
Audi is investing heavily in the transition to electric motoring. By 2025, the brand expects to have 20 fully electric models in the program. Already today, the popular Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback are offered, as well as the performance models e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT. In the autumn, the range will also be supplemented with the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron.
The Audi A6 e-tron concept was also unveiled as a guide to upcoming model programs. Premium Platform Electric is a completely new platform developed under Audi's management in collaboration with Porsche. The platform will be the basis for several larger models where the first series-produced model will be presented during the second half of 2022.
Audi is also involved in several climate projects as part of being climate-neutral as a company by 2050 per the Paris Agreement. In addition to resource optimization, an increased degree of recycling and requirements for renewable electricity in the supply chain, several projects are underway to create sustainable mobility, e.g. with a focus on battery use in so-called 2nd life.
Together with Swiss Climeworks, Audi is also involved in supporting future technology such as direct air capturing (DAC). At a plant in Iceland, Climeworks will collect 4,000 tonnes of CO2 from the air that is mineralized in the bedrock. The Audi Environmental Foundation also organizes a blogging event where Audi employees in Germany make an effort by picking up rubbish during the jogging trip.
It is now possible to order the Audi Q4 e-tron electric SUV. Climate-neutral production is already underway in Zwickau and the first customers can count on delivery already this summer. Initially, the Audi Q4 40 e-tron is expected to arouse the greatest interest with a range of up to 511 km. The launch of the Audi Q4 e-tron will take place in early June.
